Regulations prescribed by ICSE for Class X and Class XII in 2016

The Council is actively involved in studying areas of concern in education in order to provide new insights, dispel myths and provoke new responses in order to deliver more effective teaching â€" learning provisions.
The ICSE & ISC divisions are also keenly involved in developing new syllabuses, curriculum frameworks and assessment systems to make education relevant, challenging and exciting.

Changes in ICSE and ISC syllabus to be effective from 2018

Council for the Indian School Examinations (CISCE), popularly known as ICSE Board, has decided to revamp curriculum at plus two level and Pre-Primary to Class VIII from examination year 2018 onwards. The idea is to meet the changing world of competitions and their patterns in changing times.

The Council has made changes in the subjects of physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics in its 11th and 12th classes for the ISC 2018 examinations in all it’s over 2,200 schools across India. The changes have already come into effect for current class XI students.

Govt moving fast to scrap 'no-detention' rule in schools

Singapore deputy PM Tharman Shanmugaratnam's recent lecture highlighting the crisis in India's primary school education system has spurred the HRD ministry to look for quick-fix solutions.
One of the first things the ministry wants to do is scrap the 'no-detention policy' till Class VIII in the Right to Education Act without taking the legislative route. Immediately after the lecture last Friday, HRD minister Prakash Javadekar reportedly spoke to the attorney general and sought his opinion on how the 'no-detention' clause could be undone through the executive route.
